Neighborhood Circles

Village members are creating Neighborhood Circles so members who live close to one another can develop a deeper connection to each other and to their neighborhood. The idea originated with Village Board Vice President Mary Ann Schwartz, who guided the organizing of a Circle among her neighbors in Lake View. Today, more than 50 members of this Circle are building new bonds by spending time together at informal get-togethers and outings.

Following this example, Village members Hollis Hines and Barbara Manning, started the Near North Circle for their neighbors in 60610, 60611 and 60654 and because of their leadership and dedication, it is off to a promising start.

Members value their Neighborhood Circles and the opportunity to find community within their own neighborhood while still benefiting from the breadth of programs and resources the Village delivers across many neighborhoods.
