Women’s Discussion Group – Let’s (Ted) Talk About Agism

Tuesday, October 9, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Members & guests—free. Registration deadline: October 8. Please scroll down to register or call the Village office at 773.248.8700.

Author Ashton Applewhite’s 2017 Ted Talk, “Let’s End Agism,” challenges viewers to confront the reality that every person both perpetuates and experiences agism in large and subtle ways throughout their life. Following a viewing of “Let’s End Agism”, attendees will participate in a member-to-member discussion, including activities that will make you reconsider the pervasive biases we all have about individuals of every age. Following the program, attendees are welcome to continue the discussion and enjoy a self-hosted lunch at North & Clark Café, located inside of the Chicago History Museum.

The Women’s Discussion Group meets every second Tuesday of each month, featuring different topics and guest speakers. It is open to women who are Village members and their female guests.
