The Village Arts Committee invites you to join them for a tour of the historic and beautiful Auditorium Building and Theatre. The building was designed by Dankmar Adler and Louis Sullivan and finished in 1889. It is known for both its architectural beauty and its acoustics. On this tour of a national historic landmark, you can learn about its changing role in Chicago history. You will see and learn about its 24 karat gold leafed ceiling arches, its intricate mosaics, its carefully restored stencil patterns, and its art glass panels. The tour lasts one hour and after it is complete, attendees are welcome to attend a self-hosted lunch at a local restaurant (to be determined).
The tour is able to accommodate individuals with accessibility needs.
- Reservations required for all events.
- The Village aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation. When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride to an event.
