Tour of Chicago Maritime Museum
Wednesday, September 11 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pmFree
Members & guests–free for seniors. To register, please scroll down or call the Village office at 773.248.8700.
The Village Men’s Group invites any member of the Village and their guests for a guided tour of the Chicago Maritime Museum to learn about the developing story of Chicago’s maritime traditions and impact, and to see their new location on the shores of Bubbly Creek. Chicago’s history and development stem from its axis at the foot of the Great Lakes; on this tour, you’ll learn about historical moments in our maritime history, such as the Eastland disaster (recently featured in a documentary that aired on PBS). Following the tour, attendees are invited to enjoy a self-hosted lunch in cafe 8A5E, located in the same building as the museum. While the Men’s Group is typically for male members of the Village and their guests, this month’s program is open to all.
Please note: this tour is free for seniors. Attendees who do not qualify for this discount may enjoy the tour by paying $10 directly to the museum.
- Reservations required for all events.
- The Village aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation. When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride to an event.
