The Seventh Circuit Bar Association Foundation presents a day-long symposium featuring experts from around the country. There exists a widespread perception that our Congress is increasingly divided by partisanship, and our elected representatives have lost the ability to bridge differences, forge compromises, and effectively perform their legislative function. As Congress becomes stalemated, executive orders and judicial action have become the means by which policy issues are resolved. This symposium will examine possible causes of, and solutions to, this problem in balanced presentations about issues that affect our democratic institutions. Join this program for a day of programming featuring experts to address money in politics, political advertising, traditional and social media, political redistricting, and the impact of internal legislative rules.
