Saturday Afternoon at the Movies – Paterson (2016)
Saturday, November 14 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
Members & guests–free with Amazon prime. To RSVP, please scroll down. Registered attendees will then receive an email the day before the discussion with a link to join via Zoom.
Watch the film any time before the discussion–or enjoy the discussion and be persuaded to view it after! Paterson adds another refreshingly unvarnished entry to Jim Jarmusch’s filmography — and another outstanding performance to Adam Driver’s career credits. Paterson (Adam Driver) is a hardworking bus driver in Paterson, N.J., who follows the same routine every day. He observes the city and listens to fragments of conversations while picking up and dropping off his passengers. Paterson also writes heartfelt poems in a notebook, walks his dog and drinks one beer in a bar after his shift is over. Waiting for him at home is Laura (Golshifteh Farahani), his beloved wife who champions his gift for writing. Village member Mel Washburn will host a discussion of the film via Zoom this Saturday at 3:00 PM.
- Reservations required for all events.
- The Village aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation. When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride to an event.
