Careers end, children move out of state or leave home, loss of friends or partners occur; and, society imposes expectations on us such as retirement age and where we live, for example. How we deal with these changes affects our sense of identity (who we are) and the choices we make to remain joyous, fulfilled and impactful.
We propose that rather than letting society write on our ‘identity slate,’ we create our own strategies for each decade and become authors of our own identities. How might we thrive, flourish?
This presentation and group discussion will be led by Catherine Marienau and Gail Zelitzky, hosts of the podcast Women Over 70 – Aging Reimagined (click here to listen to their archive of episodes). While their podcast features women guests, this event is open to all women, men, and guests of the Village.
