Join us for a lively and informative intergenerational conversation, hosted by the Village’s LGBTA Committee and Bridging Generations Professionals Board. We welcome guest speakers, Em Jackson and Stefanie Clark. Em (they/them) is the Director of Financial Security Initiatives at FreeFrom in Los Angeles and was a former Senior Services Case Manager at Center on Halsted in Chicago. Stefanie (she/her) is a Village Member, Renaissance Woman, and LGBTQ activist.
Disclosure is an unprecedented, eye-opening look at transgender depictions in film and television, revealing how Hollywood simultaneously reflects and manufactures our deepest anxieties about gender. Leading trans thinkers and creatives, including Laverne Cox, share their reactions and resistance to some of Hollywood’s most beloved moments. What emerges is a fascinating story of dynamic interplay between trans representation on screen, society’s beliefs, and the reality of trans lives. Disclosure provokes a startling revolution in how we see and understand trans people.
