Hubbard Street Mural Project Art Walk
Saturday, October 3 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Members & guests–free. Registration for this event has now closed.
The Life 3.0 Committee invites you to join a leisurely walk (rain or shine) to view The Hubbard Street Mural Project, an eleven block gallery and a museum of street art in Chicago. Begun in the early 70’s with support from Union Pacific Railroad, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, and the Illinois Arts Council, the original message was about protecting wildlife and saving endangered species with scenes from nature and wildlife.
More recently, hundreds of individual volunteers, submitting artists from all over the world, and visiting community groups, sponsors artists and a volunteer staff have worked together to produce additional amazing murals, resulting in true diversity reflected in the artworks. The walk duration will be approximately 1 hour, and in that time the group hopes to view six of the eleven blocks of murals.
- Reservations required for all events.
