Been There, Done That: Pivoting at The End of a Good Run
Thursday, December 17, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pmFree
Members & guests–free. To RSVP, please scroll down. The day before the event, registered attendees will receive a confirmation email with a link to join via Zoom.
Join this new monthly gathering for members to participate in a series of conversations addressing the issues facing us as we near the end of our professional lives. A great opportunity for members and guests to meet others who are going through or have been through an issue that comes up in the third phase of life (i.e. what should I be doing as I am nearing retirement age, managing aging parents, dealing with adult children, job loss/pivoting, job market changes, relationship, finances, etc). Each meeting will begin with a short presentation by a member(s) about the topic of the month with discussion to follow. While the issues we are facing seem unique, there are members of the Village who have “been there and done that.”
This month’s discussion: Pivoting at The End of a Good Run. Member David Baker will talk about his transition from full-time employment at Illinois Institute of Technology to beginning a consultancy and becoming part-time head of Chicago’s consortium of colleges and universities. BYOB.
- Reservations required for all events.
- The Village aims to match participating members by request to Village events when other members who are attending the event are able to provide transportation. When registering, please let the Village office know if you are able to drive or would like a ride to an event.
