Part I: Personal Gratitude (November 10)
The first of a two-part program introducing a new approach to gratitude. Beyond a short-term boost of good feelings, we’ll learn how to develop personal gratitude themes and employ them to help cultivate optimism and confidence in new situations. A very welcome perspective in these times.

Part II: Practice Gratitude (November 17)
The second part of our program on gratitude and mindfulness, this session will focus is on applying personal gratitude themes in common situations to re-connect with positive feelings. We’ll also explore ways to keep gratitude at the forefront of our minds.

These presentations and discussions will be led by Deborah Hawkins, mindfulness coach and author. Deborah began blogging on gratitude in 2010 as a way to focus on positives and elevate her mood. Employing a fresh, “mindful” approach, her gratitude habit has dramatically boosted how she feels about her life and hopes to inspire others in maintaining a similar practice. In December of 2019, she released two related books, The Best of No Small Thing — Mindful Meditations, a collection of favorite posts, and Practice Gratitude: Transform Your Life — Making the Uplifting Experience of Gratitude Intentional. Deborah has a BA from Knox College and lives in Chicago with her beloved dog, India.
